PROBLEM #1: GALAXY S6 EDGE NOT CHARGING PROPERLY

Had my S6 Edge for about two months and out of nowhere it started to charge then stop, then charge again until it’s fully drained and turned off. Only then would it charge but even with the charger it came with it still took a while to fully charge while off. It wouldn’t charge with car charger either but I wasn’t so much worried until today when it wouldn’t charge at all when plugged in to it charger. I changed the wires, changed the port, changed outlets and nothing. The only way it charges is if I hold the wire in it a certain way but I can’t hold it all day just to get it charge. I even checked the charger with another phone and tablet and it charged them perfectly fine. Can you give me an idea what is wrong or what to do? — Nelz
Solution: Hi Nelz. It looks like you have a hardware problem at hand. Please verify it by doing a factory reset. If nothing changes after a reset, that’s a confirmation that a component, most probably in the motherboard, is not working properly. Have someone check the phone. If still covered by warranty repair, make sure to call Samsung or your carrier.
Here are the steps on how to do a factory reset:
  • Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys together.
  • When the device powers on and displays ‘Power on logo’, release all keys and the Android icon will appear on the screen.
  • Wait until the Android Recovery Screen appears after about 30 seconds.
  • Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option, ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and press the Power key to select it.
  • Press the Volume Down button again until the option ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted and then press the Power key to select it.
  • After the reset is complete, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and hit the Power key to restart the phone.

PROBLEM #2: GALAXY S6 BOOTLOOP ISSUE AFTER ROOTING

Basically i tried to root my phone through cf autoroot and odin but while doing this i accidentally tried to root it with a root tool designed for a lower down Android version. it all was working fine and said pass so i assumed it had worked but now it is in a boot loop and i can soft reset it or power it off. all i can do is get back into odin mode by holding the power, volume down and home button.
please help btw the model number is SM-G925F. — Brandon
Solution: Hi Brandon. Rooting process can sometimes fail if not done correctly. Bootloop is often the result of incompatible system files trying to run together. Sometimes, even selecting an incorrect file permission can result to this issue. Since you know what led you to this problem, the best thing that you can do is to re-flash the stock firmware of your phone. Once the stock firmware is in place, the phone should boot back again properly.
If you want to go through a more involved potential solution, try using ADB to access the phone while booting. Keep in mind that some bootloop issues may not permit a user to use this method. Try to find for online resources on how to use the ADB solution.
As a word of caution in the future, never attempt to modify or customize the software of your phone if you aren’t 100% sure that it will work.

PROBLEM #3: GALAXY S6 NO LONGER TURNS ON AFTER ACCEPTING TERMS OF SM ANTIVIRUS APP

I agreed  to the terms and conditions of the CM antivirus. This apps came with the phone. After the agreement, my phone automatically went off and only displaying: Samsung Galaxy S6 edge power by Android  — it appears in blinks. I pressed the power key for as long as the whole day and others like holding the power key along with low volume, still nothing works. The blinks lift showing up till the battery went dead. I waited for some time and  re-charged the phone up to 100% ,still the phone did not come on. When I pressed the power key, the blinks starts to show up again up till now. I don’t know what else to do please help me. — Amelia
Solution: Hi Amelia. We can’t see the logic of an antivirus messing up with a phone’s system. There must be another variable that triggered the issue you have right now. Try to check if you can access recovery mode by doing the following:
    http://googledoodlenewstoday.blogspot.com /p/contact-us.html" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank">
Once you’re in recovery, there should be an option for you to wipe the cache partition and perform a factory reset. Try to wipe the cache first , then proceed to factory reset if nothing works. Factory reset will wipe your personal data like pictures, videos, contacts, etc. unfortunately, there’s no way for us to recover them once afterwards.

PROBLEM #4: HOW TO ORDER A FAST CHARGER FOR GALAXY S6 EDGE

The fast adaptive charging feature stopped working on my Galaxy S6 Edge and I kept unplugging the device all the time because it was also getting fiery hot at the plug in area of the phone. Eventually today after trying to fix this issue for two weeks I noticed the cord now has a little rip in it near the tag at the top. I was wondering if there was any way to get a replacement cord because I have only had this phone for a little over a month. — Hope
Solution: Hi Hope. You have to call Samsung for that to see if the cord is covered under their replacement warranty. In general, accessories are only covered for 90 days. If you can’t secure a replacement cord, try to go to Samsung store or order one online.

PROBLEM #5: WATER-DAMAGED GALAXY S6 HAS DISPLAY PROBLEM WHEN POWERED ON

Hello. Today by mistake I dropped my phone in a bucket of water. I took it out within seconds, then it was working.  it switches off itself then as I m little bit aware of putting any water damage devices in a rice.. I went and put it in the drum of rice. and after 2 hour, I went and switches it on… the starting was weird.. I mean the color and words.. is like shaking… then home screen appeared. battery was showing pink in color. I don’t know why? Then..the display was quite weird.. Actualy.. the time it was showing like 5 on the right hand side and 40 on the left. … and battery signal also on the left.. I suddenly switches it off.. then again put it in the rice. I took it out.. put little bit hair dryer……and after 10 min. I put it in ziplock fil with rice and that ziplock in the drum of rice. what should I do? will my phone get recvrd? plx reply
when should I check my phone?  Please help me out. — Saumya
Solution: Hi Saumya. Taking care of a phone that got dropped in water involves more than just putting it in a bag of rice. The first and critical first step is to immediately remove the battery to avoid shorting other components. We know this is hard for your S6 as the battery is non-removable. Once the battery has been removed, you also need to clean the inside parts for any debris, then soak the phone in alcohol to absorb the remaining water. Only then can one put the device inside a bag of rice. You can then wait for at least 5 days before checking if everything is back to normal. Keep in mind that these steps are merely “first aid” procedures and there’s no guarantee that you can revive the phone completely. In most smartphones with non-removable battery, the chance of saving the phone from any hardware damage is very slim. The fact that your phone now shows display problem is an indicator that it’s too late. Even a full repair may not save the device at this time.
It’s still worth having it checked though. Call Samsung for repair, or bring it to a shop that handles this type of issue. Samsung will definitely charge you for the repair as the warranty will no longer be honored.

PROBLEM #6: GALAXY S6 DOES NOT BOOT UP

Hi there. I’ve been having trouble with my S6. it’s on Virgin Mobile network and I’ve been using it since March. It has been slow and the battery had been draining quicker for a while now but I thought this is how phones go! However it drained dead overnight as i forgot to charge it, and after charging it a bit this morning I turned it back on and it said ‘installing software update’ and I left it again and the screen was black and the pone was dead again.
After attempting to power on a few times I would get as far as my unlock screen with this new update (that had new a ‘swipe to unlock’ feature which I hadn’t used before) and then the phone would go black again after about 3 seconds. This happened twice and now it won’t show up anything on the screen at all.
I have seen that holding the power button, home and volume up can bring you to a factory reset screen but this only vibrates my Phone after ten seconds or so and remains as a blank screen and I am getting no response from it.
I’ve tried seeing if it makes a difference if the phone is plugged in or not and it doesn’t, nor does plugging it into a pc make any difference.
Please help! Thanks. — Katie
Solution: Hi Katie. There’s little, if any, that you can do at this point if the phone won’t respond to hardware button command to boot in recovery. An issue like this can be caused by failure of the battery or other components in the logic board. It can also be due to a bad charging port or charger. If using another charger doesn’t change anything, kindly call the relevant party for a warranty repair or replacement.
