Facebook added new features to its social media site by enabling users to post a video clip in Comments in someo update status or article posted or events or group on Facebook. This feature is available across Facebook’s Android and iOS apps as well as its desktop site.
To post a video comment, you need to tap on the camera icon in the comment box beneath a post, and choose a video clip from the library on your device. Facebook engineer Bob Baldwin reveals that a prototype of the feature was developed in just one day, during the company’s 50th Hackathon earlier this year.
Facebook is betting big on videos for growth of its social networking platform. During his address at the MWC 2016, Mark Zuckerberg had said ”Most of the content 10 years ago was text, and then photos, and now it’s quickly becoming videos.I just think that we’re going to be in a world a few years from now where the vast majority of the content that people consume online will be video.”
The new feature comes shortly after Facebook CEO Zuckerberg announced he is going to hold a Live video next week and has sought everyone to participate. Also, the company has introduced 360-degree images support as well as announced ending support for photo sync feature to make way for the Moments app.
